cheesy I ran three telephone poles without stopping!!!   shocked shocked

I've been doing some Olympic-style weightlifting with Bob Walt over the last couple of months and absolutely loving it!!  Well, last night after walking through my horses' pasture to check water, smooch with them, etc. I headed out another gate and picked up an easy jog!  Oh. My. Goodness.  I could  be hooked!

Now I'll be honest and tell you my shins were talking today - not hard, mind you - but tight.  Any and all advice about that is more than welcome, but I think I'm beginning to understand your "if I have to explain it...." looks!  lol

Congratulations!!   the wav  Stretch your calf muscles out which will help your shins.

BTW your "smooching the horses" comment made me smile!  Thank you!  azn

I read the "counting poles" comment and smiled. I think many of us have started that way, soon to be followed by "I made it all the way around the block". After which I drove it 3 times to make sure how far it was (1.1km) It just keeps getting further and further....and better and better.

Congrats!!!

GOOD JOB, Brenda!  Rhonda's right.  We ALL started one step at a time!

Nancy ~ were you worried you were in a league of your own on that one?  Of course, with gas prices being what they are these days, I am sure fellow runners are only driving 2 times around the route now to check for accuracy.   smiley

True Kate! Got an odometer for my bike soon after because I couldn't drive the van on the Trans Canada Trail when I went around Stoco Lake. Then I also learned about Google Maps and Map My Run.  laugh

Oh aren't you the funny guy!  laugh lol   I don't need to part with my hayburners just to buy shoes to run in!!  They'll always be the love of my life...and if I have to explain THAT, you wouldn't understand it anyway!   cheesy laugh

Makes me laugh though to think how much I love to ride my horses, but bicycles? forget it - fall off way more than is fun.  And if you don't believe one needs core strength, balance and muscle control to ride a horse, then ya ain't ever been on one.

Cheers all - and especially you, Dennis - I'm SURE I'll be seeing you soon, if this farm stuff goes the way it has been!
