Hi everybody. The last i heard Sandy has completed her run, congrats Sandy, thats an accomplishment reserved for only a few, congrats again, enjoy the fancy food . Well, i want to congratulate my 10k friends, i know they had a great time, cuz they all stuck together, awesome running Cathy who wore the privileged medal, it`s a nice one at that. And of course Adam who had the experience of running his first 10k, pretty cool isn`t it bud??, congratulations Adam. Well my day wasn`t as thrilling as most, i ran around 30-32k in a 25k race. Quite simply...i got lost.. i was running with Brian, i was about 2 mins ahead of him, he wasn`t closing the gap, but kept pace. And he said, " all of a sudden you were gone"!, i thought you were just ahead then "poof!!", well, i was keeping pace with a strong runner, i thought if i kept with him i`d be doing good, next is a mystery, the next thing i know im a the finish at 2:15, for my last leg of the run, but i screwed up bad and i knew it, Brian was 2mins behind me and he hit the line at 1:55,where was i??, i stopped and asked the aid station people, and they said keep running, so i did, i dont know what course the 10k went, but in my race we wound up on the road for a bit, well i was on that road twice, and it was a long way down, so i ran for a while, knowing very well that i was cooked, it`s a very sick feeling knowing that you ran a good strong race and just blew it all away.So after a while i turned around and somehow found my way back to the finish line for the third time, i finished my 30k + in a time of 2:41, i talked about it on the way home and Brian told me that the speed i was running, and the time i was gone i did around 32k, i guess working hard with your head down and giving it, you can get lost, but anybody who knows me will understand this.We were talking to a runner in the parking lot and he said that he saw me and knew i was lost, but he did say that he was impressed with my running in the woods and said i was " one tough little bast@#d", under the circumstances of the day, that was a great compliment to me..lol..Brian got lost before and to not take it to hard, but it`s very humiliating to me, oh well , at least i got a good long run in for the weekend..And the bonus of the day is that i met Derek, Hi Derek, im glad to report that we found our way home!!..and how was your day??..David Storey.

Hi David, my day was great. It felt weird that I was not running but i'm glad that we went down to watch .It was nice to meet you too,That's to bad about your race. Do you know what if I was doing the 25k too I would do the same thing speeding down the trail and not knowing where i'm going, when I start running I just want to keep going don't feel bad some of the 50kers did'nt know where to go because when I was waiting for the Jane and the rest of the gain coming down the hill where ppl jumping and running around the mud ppl were asking me where to go I said I have no clue I was waiting for some runners. When they came down I started to run with them wearing sandles to the finish, even wearing sandles it won't stop me for running. Sandy congrats to you for finishing the 100miler i'm very proud of you and my parents are proud too.Cathy wtg for finishing 3rd in your age group. Jane,Heather, Patti, and rest of the runners that run with them wtg. And I went to see that huge hill at the end ouch I went down some of the way and walk up it that would finish me even walking up it. Well that's it for now Derek.

Well, Dave, we were standing there waiting for you and wondered what was keeping you. Little did we know that you were romping all through those woods..... Just like Dave - if you don't like the route, then make your own!! Hmmm.... how many times have we been out trail running and we have had to call you back because you were going off course?? Sorry you couldn't stay longer. You missed a great lunch in Hess Village in Hamilton with Derek, Bob & Donna (his parents) and Barbara and Erin from Running Mania.

Dave -- you might want to consider training for 60K just in case you get lost again! Sorry, couldn't resist!

Congratulations Dave on your 30-32k run! Sounds like you had fun even though you did the extra k's. So are you still the leader in our weekend trail runs? Sue

Hey Sue, im going back and forth with trails and doing speed work{ track}on saturdays, part of my training schedule on my 50k, gotta increase my sunday longs by 10%, up to 4hr runs by august, that should do it, but im not really the leader of the trail pack, jane or Cathy are awesome trail boss`s, and see what Sandy is up to after she`s had a giant rest.Take care Sue, and when im gonna do some trail i will make sure that you know about it...David Storey.
