Well that was a very lovely trek through a new area today. I want to thank everyone who came out and especially Sue for hosting. Adam I hope you enjoyed your ?first? I am sure of several trail runs with next weekend being your first race, I believe. We topped the day off with a lengthy visit to Tim?s in Picton. What a grand day.
Sue was a wonderful host. I learned more about the area we were running than I ever had on any run that I had been on before. Such a historian. The lilacs were fantastic adding to the enjoyment of the whole adventure. We did McCaully Mountain to it?s fullest. Including heading down, what I presume was the backside of the mountain and through another lovely wooded area. I am sure probably part of the whole conservation area. We checked out every inch of it. What was supposed to be a 1 hour run turned out to be more than 1:45 minutes of sheer enjoyment. The crystalline puddles and mud that was the slipperiest that I have ever been in to the recruiting of new runners. It is amazing how a pack of muddy, wet footed people running through a housing development can stir up so much interest. Thanks all for a very enjoyable morning.
Food breaks were plentyful

The lilacs were fantastic

I am still not sure why we were all leaning as well as crouching but maybe it was that strong wind that we encountered up on top of that hill....

More food breaks. I think that when we were stopped by Robin (possible new girl) we were asked if we were a running group. We came to the conclusion that we are an eating club instead.

We don't look like a real bright bunch here and Jane seems to have gained those horns that strike us every once and a while.

The HILL

What a day
