It WAS a great day! It was quite nice out there even with the spongy mud, which eventually changed to quite squishy mud! And even with the ice, and the water, and the water on top of the ice! The warm sun on our faces was great to feel! Who would have thought that the sun would be that warm in March at 7:30 or 8:00 in the morning?
Here are my pics. Cathy, I don't know how you managed to get yours pasted in but I tried to drag and drop mine like you suggested and it didn't work. So I have spent the last oh, half hour or so, loading each individual photo to Photobucket so I could link them to here! Wayne, if there is an easier way to do this, can you let us know? (Note: Just previewed this post and the photos don't seem all that clear, but I don't know how to fix it).
Here we are after about half an hour, eating Jane's Bulk Barn Cutie Sweetie Bunnies (or whatever they were called!)

Dave got into this one -- don't know how much he could see, as every time we stopped his glasses fogged up!

Cathy looking serious, instead of smiling:

The lead pack! (once Sandy got them directed to the proper trail! So... how'd you like that extra hill Robyn and Dave?)

OK. This is what trail running is all about! It is worth getting up early on a Saturday morning and running through the bush for 10 or 12 kms just to see scenery like this!

The biggest challenge of the morning (other than fighting our way in and out of the Tim's parking lot) was jumping this crevice in the snow/ice over this massive torrential river. The hardest part was that you had to jump from one icy surface covered by water onto the other icy surface covered by water. Sandy was the brave leader who went first!

Fortunately she made it across unharmed.
Then she very kindly helped Jane across -- no photos as Jane was too busy clinging to Sandy!
But here is a replay of how it worked as Sandy helped Cathy across:
Cathy had to put her camera away as she didn't want her camera to get wet!

Sandy waiting patiently while Cathy packaged up her camera.

OK, here she goes!! "Cathy, just take my hand and everything will be ok!"

"OK - now pull that other leg across over to this side!"

Another one safely across! What would we do without Sandy to help us out??

Another fun day in the woods!! Makes you realize how great it is to be alive -- even if you can potentially end up wet and muddy!!
Can't wait for next weekend!!
