The course starts on King Street, near Kingston's historic Market Square. It proceeds west along King Street, which features some of the city's most elegant older homes. The course turns on to West Street and Court Street, passing MacDonald Park, The Cricket Field and Frontenac County Court House. Past the Court House, the course turns on to Union Street, and passes through Queen's University and makes a left on Kensington Street to the turn around. The finish line is back at Market Square. There will be a water station at the turn-around. The course is extremely flat, with very minor grades on the outbound leg, on West Street and one block of Union Street.
