I was just wondering if any one can help me out with my Whey situation. I have begun going to the gym in the mornings and finding it to early to eat. A lady from work gave me Whey to try after my work outs. She told me to mix it with Soya milk and fruit. I always thought that Whey was to help put weight on and that is the opposite of what I want to do.
So I am looking for people's thoughts, Whey or not to Whey that is the question  :icon_scratch:

Whey (protein) is for repair, which is why you take it after a workout (with carbs) to faci;itate the recovery process.  A good whey should be about 90 calories per scoop.  If you w/o in the morning try a shot of OJ before working out then have your whey smoothie as your breakfast/recovery after.

If anyone wants some Whey Protein my wifes business has changed gears and we are no longer selling Supplements online. We have good name brand Whey Proteins left at deals you will not find anywhere. This stuff can be expensive. Sandy, hope you don't mind the plug but we can save your gang a lot of $$ and get rid of our remaining stock. If Sandy's OK with it I list what we have.

I made a directorty with a few Whey Isolate products. (just click the html docs.) (these are the best and no carbs) I may have another one as well. I'll add if I do. We also have MRP's, Whey Protein Concentrates, Low Carb Concentrate, Creatines (flavoured and non) Vitamins, amino acids and more. All 50% off or more. Let me know if you want to see details and I'll add it first.

I have to get up very early in the morning for my shift, and I have a hard time wanting to have breakfast too in the wee hours. Especially when I have to get not only myself out the door.
This is a little recipe that I got from a friend and it's fast, healthy, hearty and tasty.  Keeps me going till noon.
In a small bowl mix:
4Tbsp egg whites (you can by them from the box, it's easier)
2Tbsp unsweetened apple sauce
dash of cinnomen
small packet of sweetner (can omit or use  tsp sugar)
mix well with fork
add 4 Tbsp of white bran (bought at the bulk store)
mix again, then pour contents into two coffee mugs sprayed with PAM
Microwave for 3 minutes.  Ajust time accordingly. (My microwave I use 2min 45 sec)
Pop out on paper towel, and eat while warm.
Enjoy.

That sounds very interesting Shannon...  I might try it mainly because I am curious to see what it looks/tastes like.

You're so funny WLR, I think it sounds yummy.  I can't remember a morning when I didn't feel like eating before 8am, or after for that matter!

I'm a firm believer in supplements but they only help you if your bodies missing them. If you are discussing weight training along with running, then whey, creatine, and l'glutamine taken directly after the workout is a good ideal. Keep in mind when you get your muscles pumped, there is a 40 minute window from your last set when they are flushed with blood and in a "repair mode" and that is when you need to take them in order to get your moneys worth. Creatine is not good for runners in the summer as it draws the water out of the body into the muscle cells (including upper body muscle cells ). It sounds like a good ideal but can cause unwanted upper body weight gain and lead to dehydration. As for whey, just be careful you are not lactose intolerant. I myself never use protein supplements as I eat a lot and consider protein by itself a waste of money. I'm a runner first not a bodybuilder. If you're not lactose intolerant, I find carnation instant breakfasts (add milk)with some l'arginane and some l'glutamine added for a chaser as good as you'll need. I don't sell supplements but over the years I've tried just about everything. Again the issue with supplements is a personal one. You have to determine your goals, and figure out what your body is missing. Anyone who knows me personally figures I must know something to keep this train wreck on the roads year after year.

Honest you guys, I dare you to try, it's completely healthy and very yummy.  REALLY.  I have it every morning before work.  Not too heavy for a before run either.
It just looks like two little muffins.
