Sue, if you are looking for sponges and can get to a Dollarama - they have bags of them there for $1.00 and I believe you get about 10 in a bag.  What a deal!  They are also nice and thick too.  I have not found bags of them like this anywhere else.  And I even checked at Walmart and Zellers.

Thanks Jane!  I stopped at Dollarama in Belleville on my way to work last night and picked up the bag of sponges.  Great deal!  I will try one tomorrow on my hour run!  Did you run in Wellington today?  How was it?

Wellington was good.  Except for some reason everyone's times seemed to be off.  I was trying to beat 48 minutes.  I forgot to set my heart rate monitor until we were over the start line by what I THINK was 15 seconds (but could have been more).  When I looked at my HR watch at the finish line it said under 48 minutes but they had my time as 49 minutes and something.  Ena remembered to start hers and she finished quite a bit after me, and hers was 49 minutes something.  And Sue Lanthier and another new girl, Debbie, that we just met today came over at the same time, but their times were a whole minute apart!

Oh well, it was still fun and I would definitely recommend it for next year.  About half of it was actually on a small dirt road (might have been a rail bed) that ran alongside the Wellington golf course.  It was nice and shady in spots.  However, it was a little warm on the 8K and silly me brought my sponges but didn't take them out of the van.

Everyone seemed to have a good time.  The water stations were every 2K which was great.  The one part I didn't like was running down the main street with the traffic at the end.  I bounced back and forth onto the sidewalk a couple of times, because I wasn't sure where I was supposed to be running and it didn't feel very safe running with the traffic.

The race ended at the park where they had some craft people set up.  Hey girls, I just found out that not only should we be EATING and PARTYING after runs, but we should be SHOPPING as well!!  That Petra and Ena are pretty good at that!!  Next time, I have to remember to bring my debit and credit cards!!!

Sue, the new girl Debbie, just moved here from Ottawa and she lives on a road off Highway 62 by Picton (I can't remember the name of the road).  She is supposed to be checking us out on here.  I don't know if you girls are close enough to run together or not, but it might be something to consider!

Jane you did great in Wellington!  48 mins. is great!  I'm surprised they didn't close the street for the run though.   I used the sponge for my am run and it came in very handy.  I wasn't able to get out for my run untill 9am due to my working untill 8 this morning.  It was pretty hot near the end, glad I got the run in as soon as I could.
Debbie if you happen to check out the site I have added my e-mail adress in case you would like to run together sometime.  I am beginner and am not the fastest.  E-mail me if you want to give it a try.
