Sears Great Canadian Run

This past Saturday, myself, Lisa and Damon Allen, April Archer, Sean LeSage and Ed Kooistra ran a 129km relay in support of Kids cancer charities. What an amazing experience.
Although some of us are experienced runners, a few on our team were relative rookies, but did exceptionally well. We were the first co-ed team to cross the line after the long event (there was a 101 km run as well), and the first 6 person co-ed team in either event to finish. Together we raised over $5500 towards the cause, and averaged about a half marathon each all in under 12 hours. Runner support along the route was well organized and the finish line party was awesome. I do feel sorry for those who were out on the course after sunset because the last 20kms is on a trail, and I imagine it was quite dark and lonely out there. I strongly recommend this event as a fun fundraiser for anyone looking for a different challenge, a great day with friends and an awesome party after. The icing is the great cause you'd be supporting.

The run started in Toronto with the finish line at Blue Mountain Village. It truly was a great experience! One that I was honoured to be a part of. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks team for such a fun day
