Mike, did you feel like a rock-star leading the race out of the water!? Good job buddy.

I would love to say I was first out of the water but there was a few people ahead of me. A couple in the swim bike only race and with the super long transition I must have past someone, but it looks pretty cool on the results sheet. Had a pretty good day although it was a super hot run. I will do up a race report and post it on my blog.

Mike

Thanks everyone - it was a hot race day but it was fun. I'm glad my race started early and I was done in less than 2 hours.

Thanks everyone! I will echo the "hot run" comments....Peterborough was a hot day too but this was worse with the humidity. It was taking it's toll on everyone on the run, you could really see it.
The bike course was kind of fun, but flat and repetitious. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I prefer a course that throws in the odd climb here and there ;)
All in all it was an awesome day, fun to hang out with The Kotuks and Chatz, and met some great people!
My "New York Fries" bike shirt gained a life of it's own and a bit of a fan base throughout the race....but that's a story for another day! lol

Congrats Guys,

I loved the Canadian half when I did it a few years ago, other than the super long transistions.

It's great for family as you pass by so often on the bike and the run. Janet was even able to hand off my own fluid replacement bottles as I went by the aid station. Though I don't know if they allow that anymore. Drafting was hard to enforce as well but the flat course along the river made for a rocking bike ride.

Peace
Peter
