G'day Guys,

I know some of you have done this non-competitive event in the past, and if you are thinking of it this year you might want to register. I heard that registration is down and that the organizers may have to make some decisions about the event. If you haven't done it I have heard it is a well run cycling event and with a large variety of distances available it would be a great ride for all ability levels.
Personally I do a "Epic" ride every year and for a variety of reasons it's not happening this year so I'm thinking of making the 244km distance my replacement "Epic" ride.

That's too bad, it is a great event.  Unfortunately a number of us will be in Montreal doing the Esprit that day.  The year we did it they had a huge turnout, maybe next year!

Thanks for the link  -  Keep me posted on any biking events - it's easier on his knees   and now that I've got him into doing something beside hockey - I don't want him to quit  - yah, I'm a beatch

Thanks for the link Peter. In talking with Jeff and Sandy I am considering signing up for the 60 Km route. Maybe I will see you there.

We had a blast the year we did it Dave, well worth the entry fee.

I have been looking at their website and it seems like it will be very enjoyable. Of course I will be on my own so a lot of time to take in the sites and sounds of Bancroft and the hills.

The 2011 Hilly Hundred Ride has been cancelled for this year due to small numbers of riders registering this year.

I truly am shocked! When we did it in 2009 there were TONS of people at every distance.  That's really too bad, great event.

G'day David,

You might want to consider the Collingwood Centurian, they have both a 50mile, and 100mile event and can be done either recreationally or racing flavours depending on what you looking for. I'm guessing it would be good training for Lake Placid as the Hasting hundred and the centurian are both hilly.
