It went really well Peter.  All our girls had great runs, Nancie was 6th woman, first in her age group in the 10k, Jane and Heather were happy with their times as well as Heather was able to run the entire 10k after suffering with a foot injury all spring.  Colleen, Diane, Michelle and Petra were very closely matched in the 25k with staggered times just over 3:00.  Mette and I had a great run, pacing faster then she expected but well within her abilities.  I decided at 60k I had had enough fun sliding through the mud.  Been there done that distance and the mud was just sucking the fun out of it.  Mette with the goal of finishing her first 80k picked up her pacer at 60k and went on to finish in 11:34 surpassing her initial goal by hours!!

I haven't had confirmation yet but I suspect they may have closed the course. There were 66 starters in the 100 miler with 0 finishers and no one was on the course longer then 12.5 hours although they had 30 hours to complete.  The weather was perfect but not warm and sunny enough to dry up the trail.  With over 700 participants footing in some areas were tricky by daylight and I would suspect dangerous at night, with no sleep and compromised muscle function.  As always it was a well organized race with great participation, friendly runners and beautiful scenery.  Mette and I were lucky enough to come across a family of deer crossing the path in the mist of the morning.  That's why we run!

Congrats guys,

It looks like all that slogging through snow, mud, rain and whatever else this winter/spring paid off. Way to go.

Peace

Funny!  False alarm about the course. Apparently they just stop chip timing and they haven't gotten around to posting complete results yet.
