G'day Sandy,

I see you are now carrying Vibram Five Fingers.
I've been a closet fan of minimalist footwear for awhile now or at least low heal to toe ramp shoes but because of my Syndactyly the Five fingers are not an option. Out of curiousity do you have a specific protocol that you recommend to people starting off in this direction. Especially for someone that isn't new to running.

Thanks in Advance

Peace
Peter

Yes but I'm usually ignored so the rehab program gets more play!!   laugh

How much time do you have?  We recommend that people do very little running in their minimalist shoes to begin with and BTW minimalist is anything with a lower heel to toe difference then what they are currently wearing so that could be an Asics Kayano to a Mizuno Elixir.  Going all the way to the five fingers they should be even more caution.   10 to 15 minutes then switch back to their regular shoes and build this up gradually.  It can take some people months and others years to make the switch...staying injury free.  Personally I think form is more important then footwear but footwear can make a difference in some indivduals form.
