Anyone ever try this? iskiate (chia fresca)
It does look weird, but tastes great!
To make 1 glass: 8 oz of water 2 - 2.5 teaspoons of Chia Seeds 1 lime to squeeze 2 teaspoons of sugar (I use raw honey) Mix water, sugar/honey, and juice from the lime until dissolved. Add Chia Seeds and shake or stir. Serve it chilled.
The chia seeds turn kind of jelly/slimey, but you really don't notice it too much unless you're trying to chew the seeds. The drink is very refreshing and clean tasting. It also goes down easy and quick.

Oh, my friend, it's not what they take away from you that counts. It's what you do with what you have left.

G'day Nancy,
The vitamix is a blender on steriods it tends to grind up just about anything I put through in it. So if you are making a lot of blender drinks, smoothies, soups you can justify the cost.
Peace Peter

Mike do you use chia seeds? Peter, I just researched the vitamix, yes, definitely looks like a blender on steroids! I do make a lot of soups and smoothies. "Currently" I have a 2 coffee grinders, a not too bad blender, a food processor & a juicer ....I could ask Santa (LOL Kate!), but I am thinking I might get coal instead ....LOL Ummm speaking of soup... might go have another bowl... soothes the soul in this cold damp weather! Thanks, Nancy

Yup, I eat 'em. Makes me run like a Mexican (read "Born to Run" before calling me a racist, or questioning my gastro-intestinal health.) I add them to fruit smoothies, sprinkle them in peanut buttter sandwiches, and sometimes put them in my Raman noodles. They're pretty tasteless, but if they're half as good for you as "they" claim then I'm all for it.

Good for you! They are on my top 20 healthy foods list. Omega 3, protein, fiber, potassium, magnesium, antioxidants, calcium even, how could you go wrong? lol
Like the peanut butter sandwich idea. Sometimes I put sunflower seeds on a nutbutter sandwich, that is good too.
