     Racing roundup for the last few weekends begins with the weekend of Aug 28/29 and the Chocolate Half marathon/10k races.  Elizabeth Macdonald walked the 10 (1:37:05) while Petra Austin (2:01:53), George Whitman (2:26:25) and Cathy Warren (2:36:12) ran the half marathon. 
     Sharon Voteary competed in the Cobourg International distance Duathlon (10/40/5) in 2:59:01, Brianne Gibson (2:38:26) and Nick martin (2:57:45) raced the Olympic Tri (1500/40/10), and Wendy Ziprick (1:33:21), Carl MacDonald (1:10:25) and Ian Hawes (1:15:23) participated in the Sprint Duathlon (5/20/2.5).  The Sprint triathlon (750/20/5) was contested by David Morrison (1:25:04), Ashley Armstrong (1:31:10), Wendy Roth (1:43:38), David Butler (1:23:18), Ashley Longo (1:28:13), Chris Livingston (1:15:11), Celine Griffin (1:21:59), Brian Donnan (1:34:51) and Michelle Pothier (1:33:14)  Johnathon Butler (49:29) and Kathryn Bale (1:14:56) raced the Give it a Try (400/10/2.5). 
     Tim Johnson ran the Marathon des Deux Rives in 3:00:35 while Denise Nemeth (3:04:25) and Julia Swedak (2:17:41) challenged the half distance.  Shannon Macdonald crossed the finish line at the Toronto Women?s 10k in 1:01:52 as Tessa Lyng finished the Dunrobin KOS age 10-11 (150/10/2) in 41:30.  Finally on that weekend Hogan Bernie (40:06) and Graeme Smith (54:29) enjoyed the End of Summer Dash 10k.
     For the weekend of September 4/5 Travis Todhunter skated 2:38:25 to cross the line at the Ottawa In-line Skate Marathon (42K), Moe Bsat finished the Canadian Iron 113 Tri (2/90/21) in 6:12:43, as David Conroy raced the Canadian Iron Sprint Kayak (4/30/5) in 1:54:37.  Due to high winds the Subaru Guelph Lake 2 Sprint triathlon was converted to a Duathlon (3/30/7) moments from the gun.  Athletes going with the flow were john Kooistra (1:38:13), Jennifer Freymond (2:04:37) and Ashley Armstrong (2:01:31). 
     A number of race distances were challenged at the Marathon Oasis de Montreal.  In the half were Richard Plante (1:57:29), Kayla Bowser (2:22:27), Ernest Yee (2:17:40) and Ronald Reeves (2:33:54).  Thien Nguyen raced the 10k in 1:03:04 while Debbie Pilgirm participated in the 5k crossing the line in 42:08.  In the 1k kids race were Madeleine (5:58), Karolyn (5:58), and Beatrice Yee (9:27), Christina Pilgrim (5:31), Dany Pelletier (6:04), Chloe Larkin (7:47), as well as Tyler (4:48), Mya (9:31), Mark (9:39), Lisa (6:05), and Jade Banez (6:21).
     Thinking with all those races you?d like to participate in something?  Try the Fall Classic Half marathon or 10k this Sunday September 12.  Register at redballradio.com, pick up an application at Tri & Run Sports or register onsite.  Race leaves from the Ramada Inn in Belleville at 10:00am.  Sunday September 19 marks the annual Sandbanks 5k /10k races from the park store with a 10:00am start, register at www.runningroom.com.  Sunday September 26th the Belleville General Hospital Foundation and the Quinte Mall host the second running of the Quinte Mall Rock n?Roll Fun Run 5k/10k and kids 1k.  Race starts at 9:00am and you can register at Tri & Run Sports.
     The County Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon Relay happens on Oct 3 and with the race reaching capacity don?t miss out, beat the next price increase and register today at www.countymarathon.ca .
