Does anyone know whether or not the new Shimano 7900 crankset would work with a campy 10spd drivetrain. I'm not finding much on the net but some conflicting reports.

Peace
Peter

I would think that it would work. I'm running a Campy chain with Shimano der. and an FSA crankset and it works fine. I would assume that it is just the FD/RD and shifter compatibility that you'd have to worry about.

G'day Allan,

That's kind of what I was thinking but I heard other reports that you aren't even supposed to use the old Shimano 7800 series chain on the new 7900 series stuff. So with a Campy chain being even more different yet I have my doubts. Curious why you are running a Campy chain with the rest of your stuff?

Peace

Simple explanation for the chain. My old DA chain was wearing out when I had Rick from the Bloomfield Bike shop check it over a few seasons ago. He had a few low-end SRAM and shimano chains in stock and one Campy Record chain that he said would work fine on my bike and would wear a lot better than my old DA chain ....... sold.
