ok,  first day of my vacation, and I wreck my calf.  No, I wasn't running or cycling, I was playing horseshoes.

I'll give you all a minute to get back up off the floor from your laughing.

I'm rooting thru the sand to find my horseshoe, when all of a sudden a mole or mouse jumps out of the sand at me, freaks me out, I jump back and land funny.  Now I can't walk with my foot flat on the floor because my calf is killing me.

soooo, do I win the stupidest sports injury prize......?????   anyone top that.   Please someone do......

AND,, how do I fix this so I can run again, I'm getting increasingly frustrated with my injuries this year.

Please stop laughing, it hurts.    grin

Oh no Gloria, how rotten!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sorry you hurt your calf, no matter how it happened it is still an injury and that sucks.

Hopefully you will wake up tomorrow and it will be 50% better, fingers crossed, sometimes we get lucky and injuries heal up fast.

sad Sounds like you pulled a muscle but I am not sure, maybe someone else can say.

I only laughed a wee bit...(only at the visual of the mole and you jumping, I'd have done the same darn thing!)  take care and heal up fast!

Hey Nancy
Calf is better, but still can't walk properly.   Gave up my scheduled run this morning (I'm on vacation anyways), and will go to Holly's Boot Camp tonight.  At least I'll get my exercise in.    Was really looking forward to a loooong run on Saturday or Sunday  to keep me in shape for the two days of partying that will be going on around my house.

Thanks for asking,   have an excellent day !!

Well I didn't laugh because I know how frustrating that can be but I also can't top that.  I will say however, don't wait, crawl, limp, hop to either an RMT, Physio, Bryan, Ben SOMEONE you trust who can treat it.  Anyone of those treatments will speed the healing so that maybe you will be running by the weekend.  Wait and for sure you won't.

went to Holly's boot camp last night, and stretched it out.  Was very tight this morning, but Sandy (mine, not Tri & Run), he made me get up and go for a bike ride.   Was walking ALMOST normal today, but still feel that twinge, where you think it's going to spasm.

Keeping fingers crossed that all is well, but haven't tried running  yet.

ps:  don't feel bad David, lots of people throw their backs out sneezing  -  can't say why it happens, but it sure sucks !!
