If you've ever run on the waterfront trail west out of downtown Kingston, there are a lot of turns.  People were cutting through parking lots (around walls and bushes) and across very large sections of lawn, right in front of the marshalls.  I'd never seen such brazen corner cutting in my entire running career (literally hundreds of races up to then.)  I know it really shouldn't matter to me if they cheat themselves (I was no where near a medal), but it bugged me anyway.  I can't stand a cheat, and I didn't say good things about multi-sport athletes for a long time after that.  (Pigeon holing, lumping all the non-cheaters with the cheaters, stereotyping, unfair, blah blah blah.  I'm human, and we all do that to some extent.  I know it was not even close to everyone, but there were enough in the one corner that I was definitely the minority.  And in my very tired and irritated state, I hated them all.) angel
Guess I've gotten over it.  I'm back. laugh

Having done this run a bazillion times the only place I have seen anyone short cut is on the trail where there are 90 degree turns and then they just cut the corner.  Have never seen a run marshall there.  No biggie.

azn I will there helping Sunday (something simple Sandy!) and am really excited, I can only imagine how all of you competing feel.  I was just reading through the events, wow is all I can say!  I am in awe of you people and hope one day I can join in!

How many people approx. are generally competing in this? I just have no clue to these things ...yet.

All the best to all of you for a good race and no injuries! -- looking forward to Sunday, see you there,

Sandy and all the crew at the Du today...THANK YOU.
Even though I was willing to give my bike away after my ride today I really did have fun. In fairness if I would ride once in a while I might be able to tame that beast!

Thanks to everyone.

goteam1     this is for the volunteers.   Couldn't get lost if I tried, and they were ALL very supportative.

ps:  I'm with Janet  - I wanted to get rid of my bike, or at least not look at it again for a long while, after that ride.
lol

Learned, that I've got lots to learn......

until next year...............thanks !!!!

I just wanted to take a quick moment and add my thanks to Sandy and Jeff and all of the other volunteers who made 2010 event a great success.  You guys did a first rate job, and should be proud of it.

Congrats to all those who competed and completed yesterday - job well done!

Cheers,
Jon
