Ok, a pot a coffee it is then. I guess I could try and cut back for one day.

You did awesome Rachel!  You are welcome to ride anytime.

Thanks to everyone for the 160k.  Peter, your lap was perfect.  I won't say it was fun but it was great because it was rolling and challenging and a great confidence builder.  Overall we averaged 28kph which is a little faster then I plan for ironman so going 20k short of the distance at that pace was very rewarding.  Not that I would want to do it all the time but the hill we hit that loop was great.  Also, 2nd Doug Hill hill wasn't all that bad in comparison.  So hopefully it wasn't too slow because it was great to be out with the group and have my own personal pit crew!

Eh all great ride. Thanks for ther inspiration Rachel, what a great ride you had today.  I can no longer complain about speed or distance. Wish i could have stayed and completed the distance but my Son was looking forward to Father Son golf day in Frankford. Until next weekend. Stay safe.

Hey Ladies and Gents, Thanks for a great morning.  I hope you all made it back with some water in the bottles as I ran out.  Tough to guess how much you need over the long distance.  At 6am, it was quite comfortable when I left home with 3 bottles.  Anywho.... thanks to the great group for a great day.  It was definitely one of the highlights of my weekend and probably of my outside training 2010 season (since I don't seem to get out that much).  Looking forward to "getting out" again.  Highlight #1 was seeing Rhys open Woody's Dad's day gift!  What a riot!  Talk soon - Ang

Had a blast Guys.

Though you Folks must have some pretty good connections as I got spit on with rain as I was leaving Trenton. Solid effort by everyone, and it looks like Ironman training is heading in the right direction.

Peace

G"day Guys,

For anyone who is interested,

Home to Tri&Run - 36.5km (gravel short cut) 307m of climbing

loop 1 - 49.7km - 106m of climbing
loop 2 - 29.6km - 52m of climbing
loop 3 - 53.4km (though I did a three short out and backs so about 52km) - 414m of climbing
loop 4 - 24.9km - 32m of climbing (I turned off at Wooler Rd. and split my computer at WoolerRd/Hwy#2 junction)

Wooler rd to Home 40.3km - 410m of climbing

IMC from a couple different sources between 1500m and 2050m of climbing. Kind of puts things in perspective eh!

I'm thinking you should be more of loop 3 type rides to prepare for the demands of the course. Preferrably with longer gradual climbs though.

Peace

Alright, now that I'm done whining about "the hill", it really was a good route. Gradual climbs would have been welcome, but it was a very enjoyable route, and not too busy for cars, good choice Peter, no more whining I promise (at least not until the next big hill wink)  Thanks for the ride everyone, way more fun with other people sweating it out with you.

Janet,

Funniest moment for me during the ride was, I could hear you girls talking behind me.

"Look at that hill,,,,We're not going to climb that hill are we,,,,it doesn't look like he's turning,,,, he's not turning,,,, he's not turning,,,,, noooooooo he didn't turn."   angel

Jeff,

I actually felt really good, but I was really staying on stop of hydration and nutrition as I new it was going to be a long and warm/humid day. Plus the relaxed pace of the loops made it a lot easier to do the distance as well.

Though my run monday morning was another matter, legs felt really heavy, but all seemed back to normal during this mornings run in heavy rain.

You'll get a bit of break from me over the next couple weekends, (I can hear the Big Ring Gang cheering all the way here in Elmira) as I've got the 24hr this weekend and then I'm away visiting family the next.

Peace

Yup, I appreciated the support.  It was great have you pull me up the hills on Stockdale, too bad they had to put the biggest one at the end.  That shook me loose!

We will be thinking of you on your 24 hour journey and looking forward to the race report from the podium.  wink (no pressure).  We ONLY have to do 60k which we'll do with the Tour group and then the next weekend is Peterborough.

See you in a couple of weeks for another long one.
