Oh, my friend, it's not what they take away from you that counts. It's what you do with what you have left.

During intermission I was reading my new Alive magazine and came across an article about how Bowen Therapy can help a piriformis spasm.  There is a Bowen Therapist here in Belleville @ www.quintenc.ca

BOWENWORK? ? a series of gentle moves over muscles and tendons that address the functioning of the body at many levels. Organ function often improves and energy levels increase and long-standing conditions improve, usually in a surprisingly short period of time. Bowenwork? is excellent for treating the spine, joints, organs, and soft tissue, and is especially helpful for treating pain. For more info on Bowenwork?, see our FAQ page or contact us, and check out the links in our blogroll.

What is Bowenwork??
Bowen therapy is a technique that works with muscle and connective tissue. Gentle moves release tension in the muscles and stimulate energy flow, empowering the body?s own resources to heal itself. It is safe to use on anyone from infants to the aged, and can produce lasting relief from pain and discomfort.

Bowenwork? produces a full body response, improving circulation, lymphatic drainage, and elimination of toxins, as well as reducing pain. The entire system is treated as your body assimilates the Bowen signals. The application of the Bowen move creates neural communication between the muscle and brain opening pathways and relaxing muscles as obstructions are released.

The list of conditions that have helped with Bowen is extensive (see below), but since everyone has their own unique needs, the results will be based on the individual?s ability to heal herself or himself under the right conditions. Bowen is a system of creating an environment that is appropriate for healing to take place.
