Addictive indeed! I thought my running friends were nuts when they talked about their long training runs a few years ago. I started out in '06 just running around my block. Each run increased a little more each time. Since taking that first step, I've made it through three marathons, a half dozen 1/2 marathons and several other runs. I just want to run forever now.

You go girl! Soak up every bit of the experience. The more I run, the more I'm thankful for the ability to do so.

It's GREAT to have goals, Nancy, and I hope you get to run a half marathon soon.  It's a very exciting event to be part of and I can still remember my anticipation last fall when I ran my first half marathon in almost 30 years.

I certainly don't want to discourage, but I THINK the rule of thumb is that you should be running 10K regularly for about 6 months before you start training for longer distances.  Everyone is different, but I think it helps keep you injury free.

(I am sure if I am wrong, someone will be quick to correct me!!   smiley)

Have fun running!!

That would explain alot of my injuries.  LOL
