"Bless me Father for I have sinned.  It has been 3 weeks since my last confession."

"May the God of running bless you, tell me your sins son."

"I ran on a Monday."

"That is serious.  You must know that Monday is the most holy of days for a runner.  It is the day when we rest, and recover from the weekend.  When our muscles rebuild from the efforts of Sunday's long run, or race.  This is a very serious offence.  Can you explain yourself?"

"I'm sorry Father, I know this was a serious offence.  I can explain though.  On Saturday was my Anniversary, and I tried to run first thing in the morning, but my daughter came back from her trip 2 hours early, and I had to pick her up, then my wife came home.  I had to take them all for breakfast, and the day just got away from me from there."

"I must admit I don't see how that affects this transgression."

"Oh, Father, you must let me finish.  Sunday was even worse.  Being Mothers Day, my wife was very excited to be going to ROM, she got up before the rest of us, cooked breakfast and rushed us out of bed and into the car.  My plan of running hills was ruined, and we didn't get home 'til late.  Father, I just had to get a run in!"

"So, what exactly did you run today?"

"I ran 10 km in just 2 minutes off race pace."

"2 minutes per mile?"

"No Father, 2 minutes total."

"How are your legs?"

"Pretty good."

"Let the run itself be your penance, I see no need to punish you further, your sins are forgiven."

"Thank you Father."

The Jews and Muslims got Saturday, the Gentiles all got Sunday, we runners got Monday.  So yes, running on Monday is a sin.  Monday is the day we recover from our big effort on Sunday (like a race, or our weekly long run).  You cyclists have no God.  That's why everyone hates you.  evil
Seriously, I made the rule, and I'm sticking to it.

Mike

P.S. Hope to see you this weekend.

G'day Mike,

And what makes you think I'm not a runner???
Other than the fact that I pretty much run every Monday that is, and am obviously oblivious of the Commandments of running.

Oh ya I know why I run Monday, it's because I actually never go hard or long on the weekend therefore I'm never in need of a Monday recovery.

You got to start doing all this for fun, and not work so hard at it. That way you can do this everyday like me. :)

time to go for a ride....

Peace
Peter

Great, now I've got to re-read all those "So You Think You've Found Someone to Convert" pamphlets again.

I hope to be out for the ride this weekend, we'll need to talk about preparing for your Baptism.  LOL
