Been riding the Picton route from Carrying Place, very nice. Are there any other scenic routes in the area, within a 50km drive  that would be worth checking out ? Presently getting 1 1/2hr rides in, will start bumping up soon. Thanks.

The Waterfront Trail has some good sections. Trenton out towards Cobourg is nice.
Here is a link to some routes:    http://www.hedney.com/waterfront4.htm
There are endless great backroads North of Hwy 2 that offer low traffic volume and nice country scenery.
Lots more hills also.
Up Warkworth way is also great riding, though mostly flat. wink

If our schedules align, you'd be welcome to join me on some rides.

G'day,

Assuming you are in the Carrying Place area (the place you mentioned you start your ride from) the world is your oyster as there are soooo many options for you and your bike. Not only in the County, (around consecon lake is nice) but also North of hwy#2 there are lots of paved backroads that include a variety of terrain from very hilly to pleasantly rolling. Be adventurous and grab a map and explore. Also the Big Ring club will start their weekly Saturday rides from Trenton and they do nice loops of varing distances of the area starting from Trenton. Sorry I didn't give specific routes but like I mentioned in the start your options are almost endless.

Peace

Craig,

You must be getting old as, you've already forgotten our "mostly" flat ride in Warkworth last weekend. :) "Pain is temporary, memories last forever."

Sweet, thanks guys, I'm a shiftworker at the Base, 2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights, every other weekend is a long weekend for me so I'll keep my eyes on the forums to see when people are going out. Thanks again.

Thanks Craig, I'll keep that in mind. Been riding mostly alone in NS for the past 3 seasons, mostly recreational, Sandy hooked me up with a sweet ride and I'll be getting out as often as I can this year. I'd hate to slow people down though, I'll go out with people as long as they DON'T mind leaving me in dust if need be. I always get where I'm going, just not as fast as some. I will keep my eyes on posts. Thanks ALL for the info.

I teach in Campbellford and coach cross-country- the Warkworth kids have been conditioned to run up and down hills since birth!

Speed of Corgi,

It's the only way us Hillbillies know how to run.

Hurry up boys, the last one to the Still has to drink shine out of the hounds bowl. :)

Peace
