For those of you who know, Holly and Charles had their surgery yesterday. The surgery went well, they are both doing well.  Holly will be in the hospital for around 3 days and Charles will be there from 5-10 days.

Holly has aked people to keep in touch either by email or calling.  She will be moving into a residence close to the hospital and both her and Charles will be staying in Ottawa for 6-8 weeks.  If you need contact info let me know.

I would like to provide an update regarding Holly & Charles. As we all know they both underwent major surgery. Well low and behold they are both doing famously. Holly was moved out of the hospital today to her residence and there is a very distinct possiblity that Charles will also be released possibly tomorrow , if you can believe that, to their new residence as well.

Holly and Charles will have to stay in Ottawa for 6-8 weeks so they are staying at the "residence" at the Ottawa Civic hospital. Charles must be monitored each day so it would be impossible for them to come home to accomodate this schedule.

Holly is doing very well but it will be really slow going for her. Her spirits are high but still we must understand she is going to take some time to bounce back understandably several months.

What Holly wanted me to tell everyone, and this is on her behalf, is that as soon as they transplanted her kidney into Charles it immediately began to work...the doctors had never witnessed this before so for her and Charles this is very encouraging news.
She is very thankful to everyone for your kindness and concern.

Both Charles and Holly are doing very well all things considered and if you would like information on how to contact them personally please contct me personally.

Wow, that has to be one of the best Christmas gifts ever!  I am so glad that things are going well for both Chuck and Holly!

Just hung up from Holly.  Things are going very well.  Charles was released yesterday to the apartment that they are staying in. She has named her donated kidney "Katie the Kidney!!"  Katie is doing her job and Charles is doing very well.  We laughed together when she told me that Katie has taken over and is doing her thing. Charles's sister and brother-in-law, from BC,  are there taking care of them.
She sends her best to everyone.  If anyone wants her number call us at the store we have it here and I'm sure she will be happy to hear from you.
