Ok, so who completed the half a month challenge for 2009?

I did.

Whay challenge are we going to concoct for 2010?  I suggested a marathon a month but didn't get much response.  Anyone else with a suggestion?

I did. Even managed to throw in a few extra here and there.  A marathon a month? I'd be up for it but expect a few bonks.  How about a 30k a month in the ATB vein?

How about a monthly night out at Tomasso's?  Sounds like something I could be up for!   goteam1 horrrray!

Sorry - I can't think of anything else that I would be capable of doing every month that would be a challenge to anyone else!    Walk Away

I missed November (had a couple 18km's) and maybe missed another month back there somewhere (I kinda forgot about the challenge  shocked).  Anyways, its fun to look back at your training, and see where/how to improve, or just see what you did.  Not sure what you may come up with next...but I am fairly easy to convince.  Do we have any parameters?  Does it have to be monthly?  I guess your looking for something to go throughout the whole year?

Hmmmm......

I completed it, as long as I can count a training run in April of 19k + 2k walk as a half   huh

As far as what to do next, I do like Jane's suggestion .......

As far as running is concerned,  I think  a 1/2 a month is my limit, anything further ....shakeyourheadb

Well, if you count any run over 13 miles, and you could complete all 12 before December, then ya, I did it ages ago.  I think a marathon a month is a little much, but I could probably do 30k....I like the Tomasso's idea...

I would take a look at 30km. Okay I looked ...I'm in if that is the direction we are headed.

how about this challenge...I'm going to do it myself.  You  run every other day for the entire year.  So one week you'd run 3 days, the next week you'd run 4.  Any distance, as long as you run, however for me I'm setting  a minimum of 30 min.  For me personally, I want to LITERALLY run every other day...but you can change the rules to suit your life/schedule.

I was wondering about we should step out of our boxes and try something different every month.  Say 1 mile one month, 5k the next, a relay the next and so on.  I could put a sample schedule together if anyone wants a better look at it.

That sounds interesting (and doable)  grin

And it would probably work for more people, especially the ones who are doing the "100 runs in 100 days challenge" (and its variations).

I'd be interested to see a sample schedule.   thumbs up

Heather and I are doing our own little challenge - 30 minutes of activity every day.  It doesn't matter what it is, as long as we are doing it for at least 30 minutes.  So far this week I have run, done weights, walked (three x 30 min) and done cyclefit.  That is in three days, so I figure that is pretty good.  If we do nothing other than walk for 30 minutes at least we have done something.

The "do a different thing each month" sounds interesting too.
