Pretty much confirms what I've found in the hills of Smithfield. Shorten the stride, quicker cadence and control your speed by the forward lean.  Heels are brakes try not to land on them. Also, don't kill yourself on the previous uphill so you have strength left to take advantage of the downhill that follows.  btw,  I'm looking to do this race which has plenty of downhill!  http://www.poconomarathon.org/coursemap.html

Looks awesome Neil, 1500 ft of descent would be fun.  LOTS of downhill training in your future.
