Tight calf muscles can pinch the bottom part of the sciatic nerve as it goes through the front and back part of your lower legs.  Try massage or the TP Rollers or even grap a tennis ball.  Put it on the floor, lay your calf over top, keep your foot relaxed and roll it around slowly.  If you find a painful spot just rest your leg there until it releases.  If you need extra pressure, lay your other leg over top of your the one you are working.  Next, in a seated position pull your foot to your bottom so your knee is pointed up.  Place the tennis ball on your shin and with both of your hands putting pressure on the area, roll it up and down the length of your shin.
