I read about a race today in the Tor. Star where wineries have samples at aid stations!  It's on Jun 14 in Niagara.  Gawd, why didn't I know about this before I registered for the OTHER Niagara Half marathon on the 20th?  They only have water and gatorade there!!!

Check it out.. www.winecountryrun.com

Hey Chatty,

What distance are you doing on the 20th?  My brother is racing there and I am hoping to go and watch.  Will you be sporting some Tri and Run gear...I'd cheer you on, if I knew how to spot ya!

Maybe that will encourage the County to something similar!
(Although I am not too sure I would opt for wine at a water station versus water or sport drink ...)

depends on what kind of run I'm having, whether or not i'd drink wine!

Jon, I don't have any "official" tri and run gear, since Im not a member of their running club.  Not sure what I'm wearing but once I decide I'll let you know!!

The Tri & Run gear has nothing to do with the Quinte FunRunners, they are store branded shirts...that's why they say Tri & Run Sports...not Quinte FunRunners.  Anybody interested can purchase T & R branded pieces at the store.

Speaking of which ...

How does one become a member of the Quinte Funrunners?
What is involved (besides running, of course!)

The Marathon Du Medoc in France is similar to that, only the wine is a little more free flowing i think. They have wine/aid stations every 2km and food and music every km. They call it the longest marathon (I can see why). One big rolling street party!!

Sounds really fun!
Maybe in France they are more accustomed to grabbing a glass of wine versus a glass of water in normal course.  But I can certainly see it would be a v-e-r-y long run.

Sandy ...
Fun Runners.
Are there specific races / obligations over the course of the year or is it just a group of (hopefully fun!) people with something in common.
