My friend Cathy from North Bay just got accepted through the lottery for NYC Marathon.  Has anyone ever gone and have suggestions for where to stay???

I think the link will take you to the second page of the thread where they start discussing hotels.  From the sounds of it, it sound less stressful for the start to stay on Staten Island.

I have been to NY 3 times now and stayed at the Hotel Edison.   It is a very old hotel but very close to the Marathon start.  The price is the best on Time Square and you can walk everywhere.
