Every race has three essential elements.  Runners, Volunteers and Sponsors.
Congratulations and thank you to all the WingNuts who came out and ran a course harder than Boston.
Thank you to all of our volunteers who weathered the wind, rain and cool temperatures to bring you water, medals, food and cheer.  Susan Goebel, JoAnne Baker, Angela Prescott, Sue Stevenson,
Nancy Coakley, Wendy McCoy, Charles Sine, Nick Teske, Ken Fleming, Lynn and Tiffany Jaquith, Dennis Hills, Jeff and Ryann Musson, Sue and Emma Hayes, Ashley, Justin and Mark Allaire and your Assistant Race Director Holly Sine.
Thanks to our major sponsor Don McCurdy GM and his representative Frank for allowing us to run from the dealership, opening the doors to stay warm and dry and for providing draw prizes as well as our BBQ.  Thanks also to Red Ball Radio for the prizes for our first man and woman half marathoners, Mizuno for the prizes for age groupers in the half marathon, Asics and Nancie Gibson from Unilever draw prizes and Tri & Run Sports fro draw prizes.
Thank you also to Dr. Dan Boyle from Stirling who provided after race care.

Sincerely,

Sandy Musson
Race Director

Thank you to everyone for a great run/race.  Weather could have been better but you get what you get.  It was awesome.  Our volunteers were a welcome relief to stop and talk to and thankful for their drinks and potty relief.  Thanks again for a great way to spend my Sunday morning.

Thank you to everyone who sat out there in the coolwind to make sure that we were taken care of again.

Thanks Sandy for another great run.  Eventhough the hills didn't get easier the second time around like you said they would.

I would like to thank Sandy, Holly and all the volunteers as well for a fun time and a great race. It was so nice to be out on the roads with my fellow wingnuts. The lump in my throat has finally gone from watching Patti and Nancy cross the finish line! Thanks for the inspiration. Hope to see you all soon.

I actually set my big Garmin at McCurdy's & it says that the total ascent was 233 ft for ONE trip.I am not sure if multiplying that by 4 (if you did the half) would give you close to the total?

My total ascent for the half was 445m. (1,460ft)

It says that the lowest point of elevation is approx. 75m and peaks at approx. 130m.

No wonder my knees hurt! But after some ice and rest, it was as if I didn't run at all.

I was really looking forward to the big one at the far end...Sadly we didn't go that far.  Too bad Don wasn't still in Stirling.  Now that's a hill.  grin
