Hi Guys,

I have a friend who is interested in doing the Seaton trail race, and I am pretty sure there are some here who have done it.  Can you please give me some course feedback - terrain, support, difficulty, etc, so I can help him prepare.

Thanks,
Jon

Sure Jon.
I did Seaton in 2007 . Seaton is a tough but awesome run. The course is hilly and technical. It has a wicked set of stairs in it and 2 water crossings. Pending on the winter the water is either ankle deep or, in our case up to your knees. Watch for the markers..well.... i just get lost alot. It has a 26k a 52k or a 78...
if your bud is a strong experienced trail runner then go for the 52k... but i was happy that i just did the 26k... you would never know that this course could be in the middle of Pickering... it`s a good one.
                cheers Dave. grin

I concur with David's assessment.  Loved it but it is not for a newbie.

Thx guys...

Do they give finisher medals and/or t-shirts at this race - sounds silly, but for some its a deal breaker  wink

Oh... well.. yes , tell your bud that for his gruelling snorting efforts he will recieve a finishers medal... cute little silver jobby... but no shirts. But they have the habit of adding or deleting things from their agenda.
this year who knows???.. i even have a finishers medal carved out of wood. seems fitting come to think of it... the real thrill is running and actually beating the course. grin
