This outpouring of support has been wonderful. I will ask my sis in law as to what they may need. I know the Peterborough disaster fund staff have been great. But their may be something that has been missed.
Clothing being the biggest issue at this time of year. The surviving children are 3 girls aged 13 , 6 and 5 and a boy 7. If their is ANYTHING that they need i will ask you guys for help. Their is also 40 other people homeless due to this tragedy. My niece is tall but tiny. I`m not good with sizes.I will ask.

thank you so much for the prayers and support. My family is in great appreciation of your thoughts and generous deeds. i will post a note after tomorrow if they are in great need of something.
              God bless you all. Dave.

I'm so sorry for your loss Dave.  I just caught up with everything now, and I have no words other than the ones said by all the others.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time... Anything I can do please ask

Thinking of you today, Dave.  And sending strength to help you and your family get through this terrible day.

I would like to thank you guys again. Your support and calls have been a God send. Thursday was the longest and most difficult time that we as a family have ever had. We rallied together like no other. It was awesome to see the support that a family can give to each other. I really hope that this never happens to any of you. I cannot put into words the pain and anguish of watching a young mother say goodbye to her baby. My niece handled things as well as she could.  I held her for a good long time , as did we all.
Ava was an angel for sure. And still is.
thanks again, from my entire family.
                                                                           Dave.

Dave

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I am deeply saddened by this tragedy and am at a loss for words. My family recently suffered a major fire last month. We did not lose our home but part of our business ( 2 barns, 28,000 chickens and half our production business) But at the end of the day, after the initial shock, we kept saying  at least no one was hurt. I am so sorry you and your family could not say the same. A loss of any kind is a challenge in itself. But the loss of a home, family member, especially a child, is heartbreaking. It is unfortunate that we lose too many, too young, too soon. And looking out the window today at the snow, as beautiful as it is, we all know that there are some out there on the roads, taking an unnecessary trip that will possibly lead to another family asking why.

Once again Dave, my prayers are with you and your family and just saying I'm sorry for your loss just doesn't seem enough.

sincerely,  April

Hi everyone,
First off, Dave, words cannot express my sorrow for you and your family. Be strong for your brother and your niece. They will need family strength in the coming days and weeks. This month has been a nightmare for emergency services. Between the house fires in Cobourg and Peterborough and the tradgedy on the 401, it makes it hard to find that Christmas spirit.

Here is some information on how people can help all the victims of that fire.

Donations

On-line donations can be made through the Global Angel Charitable Organization at http://www.globalangelcharity.com.   Please be sure to identify the recipient as the ?The Herbert Street Fire Victims Fund?.

Hi folks,
Another option for donations...

Anyone interested in donating money, clothes or food should call Jodi DeNoble, community emergency management co-ordinator for the city, at 705-875-5237.
