Well as some of you know I like to run long.  2009 will not be my year for doing that as I've been a little busy.  HOWEVER I have decided that I am going to run a half marathon a month for the year and would like to invite YOU!!!  Oh sorry not you in the back but you, yeah you staring at the screen with that dumbfounded look and the thought "she's really off her rocker now" bouncing in your head.  Please only give this some thought if you have been running half marathons or longer for two years consistently and are currently injury free.

This is how it's going to work.  I have picked out some halfs that I'm going to do and for months that don't have any races near by (like January) I have a route marked out.  There are no medals or tshirts unless you run a planned race, just the satisfaction of achieving a goal and maybe the odd meal in there somewhere.  Don't feel that you have to do 12 but if you want to join in for any just let me know.  I will be posting my planned schedule here as it gets updated but I reserve the right to change a planned race based on well whatever I feel!!!  My game my rules.  grin

Races so Far:
Jan:  planned route
Feb: Peterborough
Mar: Chilly Half or planned route
April:  WingNut course prior to race
May: Women's half Toronto
June: Niagara Ultra (possible)

OH....   shocked  I thought this was going to be in response to Jon's challenge.  But instead of running 100 days in a row, we would only have to do half -- like 50 out of the 100.  I would be in for THAT!!   laugh

Could you count ATB as a half?

Hey, if you start in December, you can run 13 miles, 13 months in a row...

First scheduled half will be Jan 25...leaving the Clubhouse at 9am...hwy 33 to Wooler Road to English Settlement Road...out 10.5...back 10.5.
You need to plan to be self-sufficient with water and food, if I can plant something half way great but don't count on it.
Self timed.

Sandy, I'm going to join you....i will be EXTREMELY slow considering I lost almost 4 weeks in Dec. due to illness.  this will be more like a "test" for me to see where I'm at.  I will have a contact person to call in case i need to be picked up...but I'm planning on trying!

Speed is not an issue, so early in the season everyone will be moving a little slower.  Glad to hear you will be joining us.

Sandy, just for fun I was looking on gmaps at the route that you have planned, but cannot find "english settlement road".  Is it known by another name?  And where exactly is the clubhouse on Dufferin?

Thanks!

127 Dufferin across from the Pepsi/Quaker plant.

the course will go west on hwy 33 to Wooler road then left onto English Settlement.  I do think on gmaps it is called something else then turns into ES.  let me know if you can't find it I will try to email you a map.
