My husband and I were just talking , and we were wondering what the difference is between tight running clothes (spandex type) vs the looser clothes?  Or, is it just preference?  He was at the Sunday am run at Batawa and said that he saw both but wasn't sure if one was warmer or what the difference was....

Thanks!

Interesting question.  Mostly personal preference I think.  I like tighter clothes because they tend not to move or swish or rub together making noise like some wind pants can do.  Warmer?  i think again it depends what lines it.  Mizuno Breath Thermo is looser than say Sugoi Sub Zero, both equally warm.  Bottom line is wear what is comfortable as long as it's not cotton based.

Did Chris enjoy the run?

I prefer tight fitting clothes too.  I do believe that is an individual choice, one is not better than the other.

to me, wearing tight, spandex type tights is close to wearing nothing...like Sandy said, no swooshing, rubbing or movement of fabric.  We runners may look kind of funny in our tight pants, but were comfortable!

Thanks for asking Sandy...
I did enjoy the run and will be out again for sure, Kim and I are going to alternate weekends so one of us can watch Willow. We would bring her but I think the hills would be a bit challenging with the jogging stroller. lookout!

Thanks to everyone for your opinions about our question.

What do you mean?  Thought they made you faster?  Of course they do.  Look at all the classic Super Heros.  The Flash, tight clothes.  Superman, spandex.  Wonder Woman, shorts, but tight ones.  The list goes on, but I think we can safely say that based on our "Super" role models, tighter is definitely faster.

Peace
