So my goal was 3:45:00.  I figured I'd start off with a 5:15 pace if that kept my HR in the 130's and then probably slow down a bit towards the end hills.

After the 1st km my pace was 4:20 with a HR of 168.  Hey everyone, slow down.  I'm right behind the 3:30 pace bunny so I figured I'd stay there and let them break the wind.  Turns out 4:55 pace - 141 bpm.  I can deal with that.  Too cold to run slow anyway.

At the 1/2 way point I was 1:44:00.  3 1/2 minutes off my best half time.  Where did this come from?  I tried to keep that pace but the bunny pulled away at the 28km mark.  At 30km I was still sub 5:00 pace, 11 minutes faster than my ATB time!  However, the heart rate was up to 152 which is not good for me.  I backed it off to a 5:20 pace but even at that I decided to walk though most of the water stations.

Overall a really stupid strategy.  Final time 3:40:34.  I guess I need to work on my goal setting too.
