Hello my fellow Canadians!  It's been awhile since I've posted, and I have been thinking of you all often.  I thought I would finally write down my activities since I left Trenton.  Shortly after we arrived in Oklahoma, we unpacked and repacked for our 2 week cross country holiday.  We covered over 8000 miles and crossed over, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, South & North Dakota, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, BC, Washington, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas.  I'm sure I missed one or two! lol  I saw the rockies for the first time and couldn't resist to see what it was like to run there.  I ceased every opportunity to get out and tie my sneaker when I could....  When we got back from our trip and two weddings later (nieces and brother-in-laws) we had to enroll Jacob for school as they begin early here.
I have been getting out often.  I run every other morning through the suburbs as soon as there is just enough light and cross train as soon as I get home (new concept for me).  I've managed to recruit my neighbor to power walk on alternate days at 5:am, as she has to work early.  I don't mind, I actually found walking fast has it's benefits. (Again, another new concept)lol   She also expressed, that she would like to learn to run too!  Imagine how giddy I got! lol.....of course, I'm no expert, so I just quote everyone that I have every ran with in the past, as I found everyone here on this forum is a wealth of information.

I am going to take my camera tomorrow and take a few pics of where I run.  It's strange here.  There is no shoulder, so you can imagine, when I try and leave the small subdivision, it's very dangerous for Izzy and I on the road, as I find I am often jumping in the ditch.  However, I think they are getting used to seeing me and the white dog and have started to move over. lol  And guess what else, I'm getting climatized!  I really am...I never thought I could be out in the heat but...it is working...  Wahoo!

They do have marked running paths, but my only problem with that is, I need a buddy...and I have not made it out to a running group just yet to find my safety in numbers.  Next  Saturday, I plan on it.  Yikes!  I'll be a newbie again! lol
Anyways, I just wanted to say to you all, that I took alot of fond memories with me, and I miss you all.  I will come back to the forum often and catch up on the gossip.  Good luck everyone with all your goals, that you have set out before you.  Perhaps one day I may show up on a Tuesday night.....(if I happen to be that way).

PS....Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is this spring...  Just putting it out there..(free accommodations and tour guide!)  I'm debating about a full again....is that weird?  Now I just have to commit.
Oh, I almost forgot...Bob and I got married July 18th at the courthouse in El Reno.  It was the spur of the moment and completely perfect.....just the way I wanted it.    SURPRISE! lol

Congrats to you and Bob the wav.  I'm sure you'll have a whole group of people to run with you before you know it!   Keep us updated on what you're up to, and keep on runnin'.

Hi Shannon.  Sounds like you have had a great summer.  Travelling is always the best way to pass time.  We did a similar trip to what you described a few years back.  It was so much fun.  Saw lots of beautiful country.

Congratulations on your wedding.  Glad that you got your wish.  Oklahoma in the spring sounds wonderful.  We may just surprise you and show up.  Who knows.

Keep us in tough.  You pictures on facebook were wonderful.

Congratulations Shannon and Bob!!  When I saw the weddings on FB I was wondering if yours was going to be in there!  But saw no clue!  I should have looked at the rings on your fingers maybe??

Sounds like you are enjoying it down there and happy to be with Bob!!

Good to hear from you Shannon.  I've been wondering how you were adjusting and surprised you hadn't posted in awhile.  I guess I know why, clearly you were on a BIG roadtrip.
Keep in touch and all the best to you and Bob!

Congratulations Shannon!!  Sound like you've had a productive summer...getting married, new home, new sport and a new friend to mentor.  As inspired as you may be by others, remember you are JUST as inspiring to us.

Keeping doing what you do!
