So, today I was running along and I could hear this "pssss" sound.  I turned off my Ipod and listened more carefully and sure enough, every time I landed on my left foot I would hear this "pssss"  coming from my below.
What the heck is that?  Certainly wasn't from my bottom! lol
After 8Km, it stopped and it never came back.  Do these shoes of mine have air cushioning?  Did I blow an airpocket or something?
I'm going to add up my milage on my shoes, maybe I'm due for another pair?
Weird.
Has that happened to anyone?

Ummm.. no , . but in 1985 ..or 86.. i really new less about running equ than i do now..yup.. imagine it if you will..
so i was running and got a couple of soakers.. so instead of using the unknown at the time newspaper trick, i put them in the dryer.. wrong, dont do that.. so being the run-uneducated cheapo that i was and at times still am, i buy cheap shoes..
so they did dry so i could run the next day, but when i did the entire sole fell from the shoe.. i laughed pretty good.. almost broke my neck tho. so there i was on #7 hwy, in the middle of nowhere looking like i stole my shoes from Fred Flintstone.. im pretty sure this has not happened to anybody either..  grin

I checked my milage on the shoes.  I put on 216miles on.  Thats......347 Km!
I don't know what the norm for changing shoes, but I think I'm due.

Naw, not yet.. unless they have been damaged. The norm is about 650 - 800 k.

What kind of shoes are they?  If they are Nikes, it is possible that the air pocket is leaking/exchanging air.

They are Aasics Foundations.  I physically inspected them this evening and I don't see anything....Hm?
I think I'll go to the store tomorrow.
I'm sure I wasn't imagining it.

So, the mystery is solved.  My shoes don't have air pockets or pockets for cushioning.  The girls advised me at the store.  So tonight I put my shoes on like I did on Sunday and what happend???
My heal was slipping out and pushing air under my orthotic, which acted like a baffle and blew air.  lol
Morale of the story, tie up my shoes tight.
Sigh....here I thought I needed new shoes. rolleyes
Bought them anyways. lol laugh
