So, what do you think about pedicures during marathon training?  Do you think it's a good idea or not.  I have heard some say that the callus build up is there for a reason.  Is that true?  My feet is not looking very good and I will be wearing open toe shoes soon enough.

The one pedicure I had -- this was several years ago -- my feet hurt for days afterwards.  It was great having all that skin scraped off, I felt about four pound lighter on each foot.  But it was too much.  And they were back about two weeks later.  But when I look at those awful calluses, I wish I could get them scraped off again.  But without the pain.

Ouch, that sounds painful Jane.  I like getting pedi's but I've never had one that hurt afterwards.
Makes me think that I won't get one done before either race, just in case.  I'm  booking one today, thanks gals!

I love getting pedicures especially as I get to spend some time with my daughter too!(she's an esthetician)  I have never had one hurt after, but  according to Lindsay it's  a good idea to let your esthetician know that you are a runner and not to go to0 crazy with peeling the skin down too far.  She's say's that calluses are there for a reason, support, especially if you are a runner.  Hope this helps Shannon!
