So it was a dampish morning with a touch of humidity, you know the day..just enough to wake up the deer flies..wow!..if you ever want to know what a shirt made from deer flies looks like, just run with me..
Oh well..Man the poison ivy is big up there, will know in a day or two if my secret weapon #2 worked or not...BUT!!, the crash of the day belongs to our good friend Patti..wow!..Patti and Laurie were suppose to run for 2:45, so they incorporated some walking in their run, seeing as i was only going for an hour, i ran ahead..darn!..missed the crash..i may of herd the profanity, but only faintly.Apparently patti tripped over a boulder and cut her leg..real good..blood was a gushin and the girl was a cussin..ahhh, she is a trooper indeed, when they got back to the lot, her knee was a mess and swollen.the cut is fairly deep, but should leave a good scar.
No whimping from that girl though, she`s tough, gotta like that.
So it was a great run all the same, Laurie looked strong, i do believe she is ready to kick the frog in sept, good to see.
Thanks for the run guys, see ya next time, look after that leg Patti,..hey!..but you do have a cool wound to show off at your BBQ, all the non runners will be green with envy.. grin,
                                    David of the bay. cool.

We were just talking about how we figure we're about ready for the toad.....yeah!
I was sure it was me that was going to fall today.
just had that gut feeling...

I actually thought about getting up and going with you guys this morning.  And then I remembered all that poison ivy on Sandy and Patti from the last time you guys went to Batawa and I thought "No thanks."  Maybe it was the crashing to the ground I was trying to avoid!  So, a couple of questions:

Patti and Laurie - did you get your 2:45 run in, or did you have to cut it short?

Patti - you didn't land in a poison ivy patch, did you?

Ouch Patti,
   That has got to hurt!

Janet

P.S, so was your doctor cute?  At least Donna had that to distract herself from her pain wink

Thankfully Laurie stayed with me.  We were in the 2nd section just off Parry rd when that rock came out from no where and tripped me.  My potty mouth took it from there...   don't think there was any poison ivy.  But to be perfectly honest I was more concerned with the blood running down my leg and the thoughts of how to get back to the car quickly.  We decided to carry on (walking of course) because we weren't any farther ahead to go back.
I called Dr. Musson when I got home to get permission NOT to go to the hospital for a 4hr wait.  I really didn't want to do that. She asked me if Icould make a smiley face with it.  Definately without even touching it!!!  So Nick took me to the hospital.  I only waited an hr and got brought in by a Nurse Practitioner. (sorry Janet female...but very funny) I told her I was a real candy-ass and before she could touch it she would have to freeze it.
Nick thought it was really cool when she removed a rock, some bark, and other debris.  I was  glad I had her freeze it it took a while to get it clean out before she stiched it.  To top it off next she took a nylon brush (I think it was really a SOS pad) and iodine to clean the road rash.  I almost kicked her in the head, Nick had to hold my other leg down.  He had to hold me down like a kid getting a shot!! (hey I did say I was a candy ass about these things)
I have to say I am quite sore today...thankfully I off.  I even had to cancel my lactate test today.
I think I will be off running for about 1 week.  The stitches are right were the knee bends.
Fun Fun Fun
Thanks again Laurie!!! It was an adventure!!

Ouchie mama!  My knees were getting weak when you were talking about the nurse cleaning it out.  What a crappy way to end your run.  Hope you're feeling better soon.

I feel pretty good.  The knee looks really good this morning.  It is drying up.  Mainly it is my shin that is bruised.  No poison ivy!!!  Maybe the blood washed it away!!
