OK ok, so I am having a hard time finding time to do my race report.  But I will report that I had a great time (as is usual with these girls).  They make every outing fun.  I already spoke to Sandy and confessed that I didn't run as hard as I could but you know I didn't really clue in to that until I was done.  I was more interested in how my feet were hitting the ground and less about the time.  But I still came in a descent time.  I think it was 28:12 (I had 28:07) and I was third in my age category for about 3/4 of an hour.  Then something majical happened and next thing we know I am fourth.  Was exciting while it lasted.  And the weather was perfect to run in.  For Wolfe Island it was quite a change.

Jane looked fantastic sporting her 3rd place medal.  It was another successful day for the Quinte Fun Runners.

So for those of us that require picture review because they are not on facebook (lol) I will post here as well.

This was us trying to stay warm before the race.  Petra and I were freezing (as Jane already stated) and Jane and Heather were just right.

Jane and Heather blazing to the finish.  There is always someone in the way of the important shots.

So I tried again and this time my camera was not co operating. It wasn't fast enough. They just whizzed right by me.

The afterglow just keeps on glowing.  What an awesome finish for these two ladies.

The medal presentation.  WoW.  Quite the smile eh?

You know it should be mentioned that Petra had a pretty awesome race as well.  But she had to blow town before posting a report.  Hopefully she will find some time in her holidays to review and post something.  And because she was first in, there wasn't one of us available to take pictures of her crossing the finish line.

Congratulations on your PB as well Petra.

Cathy, I still think you had a great race!  But if you knew that you could have run harder, then you will just have to work on trying to get that pacing, I guess.  I am sure that Sandy has some suggestions for you.  But really, when you think about it, 28 minutes for that route, with the hills is pretty darned good!

Yes, and poor Petra, she always misses out on the photos, doesn't she??  Serves her right for running so fast!   laugh  And doing the shorter race!  Anyhow, there are some of her on www.zoomphoto.ca.  This one for instance:  http://www.zoomphoto.ca/viewphotosearch/10089-113-10092682/1/704/  We have to teach her how to smile at the finish line though!

People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can't find them, make them.
