I usually do the 10K at the Pitter Patter.  You will probably be faster than me though Genevieve!

I can't remember if there were walkers other years or not.  But I don't see why she couldn't walk the 5K.  Everyone (5 & 10K) starts at the same time.  So she wouldn't have to worry about being out on the course longer than everyone since she will be in before some of the 10K runners cross the finish line.   So tell her to come on out!!  They have door prizes!  And food!!  And you get a t-shirt!

Note:  If you want a t-shirt you must get your registration in by Saturday March 17!  Now, I have to figure out how I will get ours down there by then!  Maybe Heather will take them for me on Friday!

I recall a couple of walkers in previous years.  Tell her to come on out!  It will be lots of fun!

And yes Mom, I can take the forms tomorrow.

Will anyone be walking 10km? Lynn and I will both be walking and consider doing 10km but don't want to hold things up. It will probably take us about 1:50 to finnish. Or should we stick to 5km?

I think I would stick to the 5K and try to better your finishing time for that.  For this one anyhow, because from what I remember, everyone was done within about 1 hr or so.  Actually, about 1 hr ten minutes.  So rather than risk coming back and finding no finish line left up, I would do the 5K.  I don't remember a ton of other walkers last year - or else they all did the 5K, maybe.

So if you have been walking 5K in your training in an hour, you could try doing it in 55 minutes, for example.  Our friends, Bob & Donna (they were at Sandy's resolution run) were doing that with their 5K.  Training at a certain speed and then trying to better it during races.  They were doing GREAT!  Bob is super fast and did 5K in 39 minutes in Kingston on Dec 31!  And Donna was PB-ing in each race she did as well.

Setting a time goal for walking the 5K may make it a good challenge for you.

Four of the people who came out this past Tuesday evening were walking.  We were saying it was too bad that you two didn't come out!  We are hoping that we can encourage more walkers to come out on Tuesday evening.

I walked both my 5K Resolution runs.  It was hard work.  Jane is very right. Setting a goal of 5 is a great start.  And the crowds there last year were really fast.  During the Kingston run, Petra and I tried to keep up with Bob.  He just blew us out of the water.  Hate to see what speed he and Donna are going at this year.

Good luck with your training.
