Got my own special personal invitation today!!  Well, actually it was only a couple of blank registration forms that came in the mail.  And Heather got an envelope too.  So I guess I am not all THAT special!

It's on April 15 at 10 a.m. and only costs $20 - and for students is only $10.

If you want a t-shirt you need to register by 17 March.

The events are 5 & 10K.

For some reason, I always like this race.  I hope to be able to do it.  It's three weeks after ATB.  We should be all recovered.....  and it's a month before the Forest City race.

Are they getting organized early this year or are the applications always out by now?  Yes this is a good run.  Had a great time last year.  Are you going to run it this year Jane?  I don't remember why you ended up being our photographer last year.

I hope the weather is nice again.

Actually I WAS the photographer two years because I think I was injured or recovering or something like that.  Last year I did photos too but also ran it -- remember, we ran together and I psyched you out???  And I took photos at the finish line of the people who finished after us.

Actually I don't know that I ever received ANYTHING in the mail before.  They have a new race coordinator.

April..... gosh that word sounds good!

Right, right. I am thinking Spring Thaw that you were the photographer.  I remember the Pitter Patter.  We ran shorter than we all should have and you had to drag me to the finish line.  Yes, yes.  I remember it all now.

Spring is just around the corner.  I can see the colour changing in some of the trees and the maple syrup buckets are appearing on the trees.  All good signs.  Can't wait to be out of snow running.  I find it awful hard on the ankles.  Running in the early morning, before light, and on snow covered roads is a little disturbing.  Not sure where my feet are going.  The earlier light will be a blessing as well.

Bring it on

I ran it last year with Heather and Amanda.  They were fast and I pooped out at the end.  Just 1k togo, but it was a good run.  Seems to me there was alot of fast runners in it last year.
They have the invites out early because of the early tshirt cutoff date.
Got mine in the mail too!  Guess we are all special! wink

I remember you coming into the finish Shannon.  You looked fantastic.  Great finish for sure.

I got my form from Sandy's today.  Will get it in the mail asap.  Not sure if it is 5 or 10k this year.

I got my form today!  I am hoping to convince my family to run the 5km with me. I'm just so happy that I'm off for it this year.  Gotta get my forms in A.S.A.P to make sure I get a T-Shirt. cool

I always get one from Sandbanks too.  That must be because I have run it so many years!!  I think this will be my 9th year for Sandbanks.  One of my favourite races....

Can't decide if I'm going to do the 5 or 10...hmmm?  Have to figure where our training will fit in for that race.

That is amazing Jane. I believe that it is our third for Susan and myself.  Always a fun race.

Does anyone know of any links for these races, that I could look at?

I've seen the one for the Pitter Patter, but would be interested to read about the Sandbanks or any other local races that occur later in the year. Maybe set some goals??

The local races are mostly not advertised.  Red Ball radio will post all of the Belleville runs like the upcoming Spring Thaw on the first weekend of May.  Sandbanks is posted on the Running Room site I think, Pitter Patter is just locally advertised.

You can always pick up race apps at the store.

Wow, it has always been held at 2 p.m. - at least in the most recent years.  That was always a strange time though, I thought.  It will be good if they move it to mid morning!

Except that is the day before we run the London Half -- so some of us will be on the way to London.  Oh well.
