Hi Jordano - I think you lost part of your post.
If you are asking whether to wear one, I vote yes! I always wear one - even for short runs (5K).

Thanks, Its weird , I saw the Preview and it showed my whole post--that was my question though and one of my worries is about transition time , putting iton etc aswell as running a (hopefully) really fast 5k with it which I ve never tried before.

Well, if you are doing a 5K at the end of a triathlon, you may be ok without one, especially if you can get enough to drink while on the bike and in transition. But I am not a triathlete. There are many on here though who can tell you what they do.

I think Jane's reply was bang on. If you can get enough fluid while biking and it's not a really hot or humid day go with out, otherwise, take the extra seconds and put it on. Practice the transition where you hop off your bike, grab it and put it on while running, pretty soon it's second nature.
Good luck with your race.

Hey Jordano, I agree with both Jane and Sandy. I've done tri's with and without my fuel belt. For 5km I have usually done without, but it depends on the weather and how much you've taken in on the bike. I will also have a water bottle at my transition and grab a quick drink before heading out on my run. Hope all this advice helps, have you done any tri's this summer?

Is there water on the course? If so, I'd skip it, but then again, I wouldn't take it even if there wasn't, the extra weight bothers me.
That didn't help at all did it?

Regret nothing, even the bad parts contributed to your arrival in this spot, and if dirt is down, then you're still winning. Keep racing.
