I agree Mike that the orange cone mile markers are cheesy and amateurish, we try every year to make improvements.  This year we got them to switch to paper cups, hopefully next year it will be proper mile markers.  Maybe some day in the future it will be cut offs for t-shirts.  One step at a time.  bongbong

Yes we have picked up race kits every year on Sunday at ATB.  They frown on it but continue to accommodate so I will continue to push the envelope.  One year I will show up and they will say no, and I will not race and it will be no ones fault but my own.  The good thing is ATB is never a goal race for me but rather an easy way to get a long run in with a couple 1000 of my closest friends, so I will not shed a tear but know that if I really want to run it in future I will have to stay over night which is not likely to happen.

Sandy, you have some friends who would be pleased to pick up your ATB race package for you the day before, you know!

Julie, I really hope that you won't be afraid to come out and meet us at the Fat Ass Run.  I would hate to think that someone was afraid I was going to be nasty to them.

Seriously Julie, I've met most of these girls and they're harmless.  Just shows how passionate we can all get about running.

The Fat Ass, on the other hand, will only hurt if you do it right.

See you at the top.

Well said Mike.

I just wanted to add my 2 cents.  I volunteered this past PEC race, and I was at the 32 K water station.  I was glad I did.  There were some people volunteering thier time, for the pure enjoyment of simply, just that.  Volunteering.  (Aside from the few teenagers out there doing this to make up for thier mandatory hours, I have a thought on that, but that can be at another time)  It takes alot of work to make something this BIG to be successful. I appreciate all the work and effort that was put into this race by the organizing committee and will most certainly appreciate all the hard workers when I run my next race.   (I know, kind of off topic, but just wanted to add to this post.)

I think every runner out there, should do this at least once don't you?

Julie, come on out, we are really a fun bunch.  I like opinionated people myself.  Makes life spicy!!  Mixes it up a little! bluhat
Imagine if we were all "yes" people?  How boring is that?

Absolutey Shannon, I think runners should sit on the sidelines and volunteer at least 1 race a year.  I also found it fun to volunteer at Kids of Steel.  Lets give a shout out (I heard the kids say that, and it sounds cool  goldtooth) to all the racing volunteers.
