For all those running ladies that loose your toe nails for unknown reasons due to running and want to look cute in those summer sandals, it's possibe!!!

I discovered glue on fake nails.  You can get them at any drug store, and they look as if you just came back from a day at the salon!  Reasonably priced too!

Just remember to bring some spares and glue in your purse if you are on the go.  (lost one in church....hehehe)

I did several runs with them too and they stayed on.  Way cool.

Thanks for the info Shannon, so far I have been lucky and haven't had any lost toe nails or black ones either, but I'm sure my day is going to come, and now I'll know what to do cheesy

shannon, i noticed what you wrote about the glue on nails.  i am in the process of losing one (my badge of courage after running the marathon in Ottawa!). I have been running for 10 years and up until May had only done half marathon distances....I'd run 7 and NEVER had the black toenail thing!  Well, immediately after running the full distance in Ottawa I developed the nasty black toe nail, and it is almost off......and the fact that it is "hanging by a thread" grosses me out completely!!!!  i attempted to remove it but OUCH!! it really, really hurts.  So I have a band-aid keeping it from flapping in the wind so to speak.  How long will it take for it to completely fall off (so I can start using the lovely PRESS ONS!) and is there anything I can do to speed up the process????   Honestly i find this whole "tonail thing" really disgusting and it is seriously making me think twice about doing another full!!  I'm too vain for this stuff!!!  do people like Sandy (the 100 milers) lose ALL their toenails????

It's kind of like a tooth, it'll come when it's ready.  I find cutting them as they grow speeds the process.  So far it's 4 from this last race and I'm just waiting for one more lesser toenail plus my right big toe nail to go.  Really, other then nail polish what purpose do toe nails provide.  wink

you're right Sandy, what the heck do they do anyways?  My problem is that I have a foot thing....NOT a fetish but quite the opposite.  I just think feet are ugly, and I'm especially critical of mine.  I mean I just think they are the ugliest things ever.  So it's like the lost toenail adds insult to inury I guess!  But like i said, you're right, what DO they do.......i need to change the way I look at them i guess.  Running is way  more important.  and as long as they make press-ons.................By the way, shannon I assume you bought press on nails for your hands and simply trimmed them????

Nope!!   I bought the ones especially made just for toes!  Surprised?  I was.
There are a variety to chose from, all depends on your skin type I gues.  I chose the most pinkest and a french manicure style and love them.
I really look like a pedicured girl with them on.  They usually fall off in 4 days, then I just re glue them.  Toe nails clean up pretty good too after they are off.  I was worried about bacteria...etc.  I would just give my feet a real good soaping while in the shower.
I too think feet look ugly and strive to find ways to make them look fab in the summer because in my opinion, nothing looks worse than a pair of feet with no nail polish in pretty sandals.....it's like wearing a great dress and finishing it off with an ugly purse or shoes.....
Anyways, thats the way my brain works!
Check out Zellars, they have a great selection!

Yup!  I have four new "beautiful" (use that loosely) toe nails.  They look the same as I had before.  The glue comes off with nail polish remover too.
